Saim Ayub suffers from an ankle injury

Pakistan has faced a major setback as their talented and aggressive opener, Saim Ayub, has been ruled out for six weeks due to a right ankle fracture. This injury occurred during Pakistan’s second Test match against South Africa in Cape Town.

Because of this injury, Saim Ayub will miss the upcoming Test series against West Indies later this month and the tri-series against South Africa and New Zealand in February. He is now racing against time to recover for the Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to begin in Karachi in just over six weeks. If he isn’t fit by then, it will be a big blow for Pakistan.

The incident happened when Ryan Rickelton played a shot towards the slips. Aamer Jamal stopped the ball near the boundary, and Saim Ayub ran to pick it up. Unfortunately, he lost his balance and twisted his ankle, forcing him to leave the field on a stretcher. Despite immediate medical attention, he couldn’t put weight on his right foot and was later seen wearing a medical boot.
