PCB announces a 17-member squad for the Bangladesh Test series, featuring key changes and new inclusions. The series is crucial for World Test Championship hopes.

The PCB has announced a 17-member squad for the Test series against Bangladesh today.

Let’s first discuss the important changes from the squad that played the Test series against Australia earlier this year. Comparing the two, Imam-ul-Haq, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Nawaz, Sajid Khan, and Nauman Ali have been dropped from the team. Hasan Ali and Mohammad Wasim Jr. were not considered due to injuries.

Naseem Shah has made a comeback to the squad. Mohammad Ali, Kamran Ghulam, and Mohammad Huraira have been included in the squad based on their impressive domestic performances.

PAKISTAN SQUAD (ICC World Test Championship vs Bangladesh)

Looking at the complete squad, the specialist batters are captain Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Abdullah Shafique, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Huraira, and Saim Ayub.

Mohammad Rizwan and Sarfaraz Ahmed are included as wicketkeeper-batters.

The squad also features Aamer Jamal and Salman Ali Agha as all-rounders.

The pace attack consists of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Khurram Shehzad, Mir Hamza, and Mohammad Ali.

Abrar Ahmad is included as a genuine spinner in the squad.

Pakistan Vs Bangladesh Test Series 2024 Schedule:

Bangladesh due to arrive in Islamabad on 17 August for the ICC World Test Championships matches in Rawalpindi and Karachi from 21 August to 3 September

The 2-match Test series will commence on August 21.

First Test: 21-25 August, Rawalpindi

First Test: 30 August – 3 September, Karachi

Pakistan is currently in 5th place in the World Test Championship points table. To keep their hopes alive for the championship finals, this series is of immense importance.
