Pakistan All Out for 91, Jamieson Takes 3, Duffy Grabs 4, Seifert’s Quick 44 Secures Victory for New Zealand, Leading 1-0

Toss, Venue & Playing XI
The first T20I match between Pakistan and New Zealand was played in Christchurch, where New Zealand won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Playing XI:
Pakistan: Mohammad Haris, Hasan Nawaz, Salman Ali Agha (c), Irfan Khan, Shadab Khan, Khushdil Shah, Abdul Samad, Jahandad Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Ali.
New Zealand: Tim Seifert, Finn Allen, Tim Robinson, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Hay, Michael Bracewell (c), Zakary Foulkes, Kyle Jamieson, Ish Sodhi, Jacob Duffy.
Pakistan Innings Highlights
In Christchurch, New Zealand’s bowlers, Kyle Jamieson and Jacob Duffy, completely dominated Pakistan’s batting lineup. Returning after nearly two years, Jamieson made an immediate impact by dismissing Mohammad Haris in the very first over.
Debutant Hasan Nawaz also fell quickly, caught at third man off Duffy’s bowling. Both Pakistani openers were dismissed for zero.
Jamieson continued his lethal spell, getting Irfan Khan caught behind, reducing Pakistan to 1/3—their third-lowest score for three wickets in T20I history.
Tim Robinson then took a stunning catch to dismiss Shadab Khan, reminiscent of Glenn Phillips’ fielding brilliance. By the end of the powerplay, Pakistan had slumped to 14/4.
Captain Salman Ali Agha and Khushdil Shah tried to stabilize the innings. Agha played a reverse sweep off Ish Sodhi for four, while Khushdil smashed a six over mid-wicket in the same over.
In the next over, Khushdil hit back-to-back boundaries off Bracewell, but their resistance didn’t last long. Agha was caught attempting another reverse sweep, and Khushdil was caught at point while playing an aggressive shot. Pakistan was reduced to 64/6.
The lower order, including Abdul Samad and Jahandad Khan, also failed to contribute significantly, as they fell trying to play big shots. Jacob Duffy wrapped up the innings by taking the last two wickets.
Pakistan’s total of 91 was the fourth-lowest score by any team in New Zealand.
Pakistan, aiming to test a new combination by dropping senior players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, struggled badly. Unfortunately, their plan backfired as they collapsed to just 91 runs, marking their fifth-lowest total in T20I history.

Finn Allen continued his aggressive approach, smashing two fours and a six. Tim Robinson also joined the party with a six as New Zealand comfortably chased the target in just 10.1 overs, securing a 9-wicket victory and taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
